A postal disruption may delay mail delivery, but all utility billing and permit deadlines remain in effect. Here’s how to access bills, make payments, and submit applications without delay.

In the event of a postal strike impacting mail delivery, the Town of Westlock has alternative ways for residents and businesses to manage their utility bills and access essential services such as permits.
IMPORTANT: Utility bill payments and permit-related application deadlines remain in effect, even if you have not received documents by mail.
Ways to Receive Your Utility Bill
- E-Billing: Get your bill directly by email and receive a $1.00 monthly credit.
- To sign up, email finance@westlock.ca or call 780-349-4444.
- Pick Up in Person: Visit the Town Office at 10003-106 Street, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (closed from 12 – 1 p.m.).
- Bring government-issued ID for account verification.
- Request by Email: Contact us at finance@westlock.ca or call to have your bill emailed to you.
Ways to Pay Your Utility Bill
- Pre-Authorized Payment Plan: Automatically pay from your bank account. Call 780-349-4444 for details.
- Online or Telephone Banking: Pay through your financial institution’s services.
- E-Transfer: Send to finance@westlock.ca. Include your address or account number in the message.
- In-Person: Pay at the Town Office with cash, cheque, debit, or credit card.
- Drop Box: Drop off cheques (no cash) in the secure box outside the Town Office after hours.

Applying for Permits
- E-Permitting Portal: The Town has a new online application option for development and building permits. Visit www.westlock.ca/epermitting-portal to find out more and access the PSD CityWide Portal.
- Submit applications by email to planning@westlock.ca, courier, or in person at the Town Office. (A drop box is available outside of business hours.)
Landowner Notifications
- During the postal strike, any required referrals or notifications will be hand-delivered.
Permit Approvals
- Approved permits will be emailed to applicants.
- Original documents can be picked up in person or sent by courier.
- Any unclaimed permits will be mailed once postal service resumes.
