Host an Event in Westlock
Event organizers are required to submit a Festival & Event Application Form so we can help ensure safety, accessibility, and coordination across services such as parks, roads, utilities, and emergency support.
Submitting an application allows us to:

Coordinate required permits or approvals

Support smooth event logistics

Ensure public spaces are used safely and responsibly
Please submit your application at least 8 weeks before your event.

Take It or Leave It

Place your unwanted items on the curb and let neighbours give them a second life!

Large Item Pick Up
Date: September 9 and 10, 2026
Location: Westlock
Set large items at the front of your property for collection. Make sure to clearly separate what stays and what goes!

Movie in the Park
Date: September 12, 2026 // Start time: 8:30 p.m.
Location: Westlock Elementary School Football Field, 10520 - 104 Avenue
Bring a chair or blanket, invite your friends and join us for a showing of Disney’s Zootopia 2 in the park.
Concession will be available on site, run by Westlock Minor Hockey.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected for the Westlock Food Bank.

Terry Fox Run

Location: Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre, 9603 – 100 Street
Join us behind the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre, 9603 100 St, for our 2026 Annual Terry Fox Run!
Choose a 1KM, 3KM, or 6KM run around the Rotary Trail. Bring your spirit, your wallet and together we can make a difference in cancer research!
Run starts at 11 a.m., with runners asked to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare. Pre-registration is not required and donations are welcome on the day of the event.

Annual Firefighters Ball

Celebrate an evening of community, recognition, and local pride at the Firefighters Ball. This special event honours the dedication and service of our volunteer firefighters while bringing the community together for a memorable night out.

Trunk or Treat

Join us for a spooktacular evening of Halloween fun at Westlock's Trunk or Treat, where decorated trunks from local groups offer a safe, festive alternative to traditional trick-or-treating.
Dress up in your best costume and bring the whole family for a night of trick-or-treating, music, and community fun. It’s a great way to celebrate Halloween while supporting local businesses!
Boo Bash
Date & Time: October 30, 2026 // 9 - 11 a.m.
Location: Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre, 9603 – 100 Street
Calling all little ghosts and goblins ages 4–8! Join us at the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre Field House for a spook-tacular Boo Bash. Kids can enjoy fun games, collect candy, and laugh with friends in a safe and playful environment.
There will be plenty of room for free play, so come ready to run, play, and have a fang-tastic time! Costumes are encouraged — and don’t forget your trick-or-treat bag. 🕸️🍬
Haunted House
Date & Time: October 30, 2026 // 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Westlock Aquatic Centre, 10605 104 Avenue
Dare to enter… if you’re brave enough! The Westlock Aquatic Centre is transforming into a spook-tacular Haunted House for ages 10 and up. Explore winding hallways filled with eerie decorations, haunting spooks, and just the right amount of fright.
This family-friendly haunted adventure is designed to be spooky and fun — with creepy surprises, and plenty of laughs along the way. Bring your friends, test your courage, and see who makes it through without screaming!
Costumes are encouraged, and treats will be waiting at the end for those who survive the journey. 🎃

Light Up Westlock & Christmas Parade

Location: Downtown Westlock
Kick off the holiday season in Westlock with our annual Light Up event and Christmas Parade! This festive evening features the official light up of downtown, a cheerful parade through downtown, and plenty of seasonal magic for all ages.

An annual event held by our Volunteer Firefighters to fundraise for the local food bank and Westlock & District FCSS program, Coats for Kids and Families.
Skate with Santa
Date: December 13, 2026 // 5:45 - 6:45 p.m.

The ice is twinkling and Santa’s ready to glide! Bring your Christmas cheer and join us for a festive family skate with Santa himself.
Everyone’s welcome. CSA-approved helmets must be worn by all participants 17 and under. No chairs, strollers, sticks, pucks, rings or balls permitted on the ice.
Kids NYE

Celebrate the New Year a little early with an afternoon designed just for young children and their families! Kids aged 8 and under can enjoy games, music, and a variety of fun, kid-friendly activities in a safe, welcoming space—perfect for those who want the excitement of New Year’s Eve without the late-night countdown.
