Prairie Morning
Highway 18 and 44
This piece celebrates the spirit of Westlock by highlighting its agricultural roots, prairie landscapes, and strong sense of community. The train tracks and grain elevators reflect the town's historical growth, paying respect to the railroad that passed through the early pioneer village and helped shape Westlock into the farming hub it is today. The Canada goose and blooming Alberta wild roses symbolize life, movement, and renewal. The simple linework and bold, bright colours are meant to catch the eye and bring energy and warmth to the area.
About the Artist
Victoria Moon
I'm a 25-year-old Metis artist and graphic designer based in Westlock (Busby), Alberta, where I grew up and now work full-time. Art and creativity have always been a big part of my life, from bold colours to hands-on crafts, I've always been drawn to projects that let imagination shine, and I love being able to tell a story through art.
In the evenings and on weekends, I spend time creating digital designs, watercolour pieces, acrylic paintings, and beadwork. I also enjoy exploring other creative outlets like writing, music, and dance, so you could say I'm a creative soul through and through!
Community spirit is something I deeply value. I believe in supporting one another, giving back where we can, and helping our town grow in ways that bring colour and joy.
The Barn
Highway 18 and 108 Avenue
Agricultural Roots: The wheat field is a direct and iconic symbol of Westlock's farming legacy- representing both livelihood and land stewardship.
Local Heritage: The barn in the distance hints at Westlock's early homesteads and family-run farms, emphasizing generational connections and rural tradition.
Community Spirit: The openness of the field evokes shared space and collective effort, the barn (often a gathering point in rural life) symbolizes unity and hard work.

Community Flow
Highway 44 and 106 Street
This piece celebrates the energy and spirit of recreation in Westlock and a reminder that activity and connection are at the heart of a thriving community.. The abstract patchwork of colours and shapes reflects the trails, fields, and gathering spaces that bring people together to move, play, and connect. Its playful design mirrors the vibrancy of community life: from morning walks on the Rotary Trail to evenings at the rink or playground.
