Town of Westlock Releases 2025 Annual Report
Westlock, AB - The Town of Westlock has released its 2025 Annual Report, providing a detailed look at the Town’s programs, services, finances and progress over the past year.
The report highlights how long-term planning, strategic investment and day-to-day municipal services came together throughout 2025 to support Westlock’s residents, businesses and future growth. The report includes updates on Council’s Strategic Plan, municipal infrastructure, residential and economic development, recreation and community services, governance, departmental activities and the Town’s audited financial statements.
“Strong communities are built through thoughtful planning, responsible decision-making and a shared commitment to the future,” said Mayor Jon Kramer. “This report shows how the work that has taken shape over many years is beginning to deliver meaningful results. It also reflects the contributions of Town staff, volunteers, community organizations, businesses and residents who continue to invest their time, ideas and energy in Westlock.”
Highlights from the report are:
• continued planning and investment in roads, water, wastewater, drainage and municipal facilities;
• residential growth initiatives, including Southview Subdivision lot promotion and housing incentives;
• economic-development efforts to position Westlock as a place to live, build, invest and do business.
The report also provides a snapshot of the municipal services and infrastructure that support the community, including 45.63 kilometres of water mains, 56.16 kilometres of sanitary mains, 42.1 kilometres of sidewalks, 10.1 kilometres of trails, 11 parks and playgrounds, and more than 5,600 Community Assistance Bus rides delivered during the year.
“Much of municipal work happens behind the scenes, but it has a direct impact on the services residents depend on every day,” said Chief Administrative Officer Simone Wiley. “In 2025, we remained focused on responsible service delivery, long-term capital planning, development readiness and strengthening the information we use to guide decisions. This Annual Report brings that work together and helps show how individual projects and services contribute to Westlock’s long-term success.”
The 2025 Annual Report also explains how Council, Administration and the Town’s planning documents work together, and includes quarterly legislative highlights, departmental accomplishments, community statistics and audited financial information.
“The report is an important part of our commitment to transparency and accountability,” Wiley added. “It gives residents a clearer picture of what the Town delivers, how public funds are managed and how the work completed during the year connects to Council’s broader strategic direction. I encourage residents to explore the full report and learn more about the services, projects and partnerships that shaped Westlock in 2025.”
