    Update May 5, 2021 11:03 a.m.

The Province of Alberta announced additional public health measures on May 4, 2021. These expanded restrictions encompass high-case regions, including the Town of Westlock and area, using the metric of 50 cases per 100,000 people and at least 30 active cases.

Effective May 5, new measures have been implemented for outdoor social gatherings, indoor fitness, funerals, retail, post-secondary, places of worship, workplaces and hotels and motels.

Effective Friday, May 7, all students (kindergarten to Grade 12) move to at-home learning until May 25, when they return to in-class learning.

Effective May 9 at 11:59 p.m., new measures will be implemented for health, social and professional services; sports, performance, and recreation; personal and wellness services; restaurants, bars, pubs, lounges, and cafes.

Current public health restrictions of wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, gathering limits and working from home remain in place.
