The Town of Westlock has received reports of individuals going door-to-door promoting solar panels and claiming to represent the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP).
Important: CEIP Does Not Go Door-to-Door
The Town of Westlock has not authorized any individual or company to represent CEIP at residents’ homes.
CEIP does not sell products or services such as solar panels, windows, insulation, furnaces, or other home upgrades. It is a financing program that helps eligible homeowners complete energy efficiency and clean energy upgrades through property tax financing.
Be cautious of claims such as:
• “We’re with CEIP” or “We represent CEIP”
• “You’ve been pre-approved”
• “We can sign you up for CEIP today”
• Pressure to sign immediately or limited-time offers
Anyone selling door-to-door in Westlock must have:
• A Town of Westlock business licence, and
• A provincial licence under Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act
Always ask for identification, verify credentials, and avoid signing anything on the spot if you feel pressured or uncertain.
To confirm a Town business licence, call 780-349-4444.
