Why Conserve Water?

Conserving water benefits our natural ecosystems and helps residents reduce utility bills. Indoor water use, particularly in bathrooms, accounts for approximately 65% of household consumption, while outdoor use can increase by up to 200% during the summer months.

How You Can Help:

  • Fix leaky faucets, taps, and toilets promptly.
  • Shorten showers and turn off taps while brushing.
  • Use full loads in dishwashers and washing machines.
  • Harvest rainwater for use in your garden or outdoors.
  • Apply mulch and choose native plants to reduce watering needs.
Restrictions & Regulations

To maintain consistent water pressure and prevent peak demand stress on the Town’s water distribution system, the following rules apply year-round:

  • Lawn sprinkling must adhere to seasonal and time-based restrictions.
  • The collection of rainwater in barrels is encouraged as a conservation practice.

These measures help avoid costly upgrades to water infrastructure.
