Temporary Change in Access to Recreation Facilities

Due to the current construction of the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre, an alternate access has been created. Please view the attached file for information regarding access to the campground, Jubilee Arena,Keller Field, Rodeo Grounds and Curling Rink.

There will be no access to the facilities via 99th Street or Highway 18. There will be no pedestrian access through the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre construction site.

This alternate access will be effective May 18 until June 9, 2012 unless otherwise noted.

Our community Triathlon has been around for years and this year we’re shaking things up! Challenge yourself or your friends and sign up for our SPRINT race involving swimming, biking and running. It’s a great way to get fit and meet friends along the way.

Set for Saturday June 9^th, 2012, this marks the first year our Triathlon will be sanctioned by the Alberta Triathlon Association. We are happy to be promoting this event and proud to encourage fitness and recreation within our community.

But that’s not all! We are happy to announce we will be hosting Run 4 It Kids Triathlon, the very next day, Sunday June 10^th, 2012.

So what are you waiting for… involve the whole family, from young to old, and sign up today! Here’s what you need to know:

Spirit of Westlock Triathlon - Adult Sprint (ages 16+) – June 9^th, 2012

Swim 750m (30 lengths) / Bike 21km ( highway 44) / Run 5km (within town)

Individual Entry Fee: $60 or $55.00 – early bird * until March 31st

Team Entry Fee: $90 or $85.00 – early bird * until March 31^st

This race can be done individually or as a group of three. Categories are age and gender based (10 year increments ex. 20-29, 30-39, etc). Prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers in each category. Of course we can’t forget prizes for best dressed, most entries by a business, most fun team, etc.

Run 4 It - Kids Triathlon (ages 5-15yrs) – June 10^th, 2012

5-7yrs – Swim 50m (2 lengths) / Bike 1.5km / Run 500m

8-9yrs – Swim 100m (4 lengths) / Bike 5km / Run 1km

10-11yrs – Swim 200m (8 lengths) / Bike 5km / Run 2km

12-13yrs – Swim 300m (12 lengths) / Bike 10km / Run 3km

14-15yrs – Swim 500m (16 lengths) / Bike 10km / Run 4km

Individual Entry Fee: $15

Team Entry Fee: $30

Prizes will be awarded to all Kids Triathlon participants. This race can be done individually or as a group of three. Registration forms are available by clicking on the links below, or they can be picked up at the Town office or the Westlock Community Recreation Centre.
